The program is not necessarily meant to turn a student into a poet, but to help them explore who they are and express those discoveries and how they feel through written and spoken words. The program includes intensive artistic mentorship, publications and performance opportunities. Citywide Poets helps unleash the artistry and creativity of its students. These students then use the skills learned in the classroom and in their future careers.
