COVID-19 Event Policies for the Literary Arts

Vaccination policy:

For events, classes, seminars and meetings at our downtown literary arts space at 925 SW Washington Street, we require proof of vaccination (or a negative test performed within 72 hours) and strongly encourage people to wear a mask at all times.

At that time, the Literary Arts were not require event attendees, staff or volunteers to show proof of vaccination at events at Partner Sites, unless required by the Partner Site. Wearing a face mask is also optional, unless the partner site requires it.

Please note that this policy may change at any time and specific literary arts events and activities may have different policies.. We encourage you to come back the day of the event or contact us at [email protected] with any questions.

Face Mask Policy:

According State and local According to the guidelines, face masks are optional in most indoor public places, with the exception of health care, public transport, shelters and detention centers.

For in-person classes:

  • All Literary Arts staff and teachers working on site have been fully vaccinated.
  • All students, when registering online, must confirm that they are vaccinated.
  • All students will be asked to present proof of full vaccination (vaccination book or photo of vaccination book and photo ID) upon arrival at the first class, OR proof of a negative COVID test taken within Last 72 hours before each class session / at entry to the event. This will be recorded on the class list.
  • Masks are welcome but not required.
  • Please stay home if you have symptoms or have a positive COVID test.

Recognize the risk

Although Literary Arts takes precautions and applies security measures, we cannot guarantee zero risk; a risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place. By entering the classroom or performance venue, students, teachers, and attendees accept the risk of exposure and knowingly waive and release Literary Arts from any liability related to COVID-19.

Please note that dates, lineup, artistic policies, tickets, donor benefits, and COVID-19 safety protocols and requirements are subject to ongoing change or cancellation in accordance with state and/or federal guidelines.

  • We will reassess this policy on an ongoing basis. We reserve the right to modify, adopt and apply security measures as necessary.
  • Failure to follow safety procedures outlined by management may result in your exclusion from Literary Arts events.
